mouse monoclonal IgG1; ZAG Antibody (1D4) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal ZAG antibody (also designated AZGP1 antibody, ZA2G antibody, Alpha-2-Glycoprotein 1 antibody, Zinc-Binding antibody, Zinc-Alpha-2-Glycoprotein antibody, Zn-Alpha-2-Glycoprotein antibody, Zn-Alpha-2-GP antibody, ZA2G antibody, Alpha-2-Glycoprotein 1 Zinc antibody, Alpha-2-Glycoprotein Zinc antibody, Zn-Alpha2-Glycoprotein antibody, or ZNGP1 antibody) that detects the ZAG protein of human origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P). ZAG Antibody (1D4) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-ZAG antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-ZAG antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZAG (Zn-a2-glycoprotein, also designated Zn-a2-gp) is a soluble, secreted protein found in serum and other body fluids (such as cerebrospinal fluid, blood plasma, urine and sweat). ZAG has a tendency to precipitate with zinc salts, has electrophoretic mobility in the region of the two globulins, and has 18% carbohydrate content. A member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, ZAG has a high degree of sequence similarity to class-I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens. The ZAG structure includes a large groove analogous to class I MHC peptide binding grooves. The crystal structure of ZAG resembles a class I MHC heavy chain but does not bind the class I light chain b-2-Microglobulin, unlike other MHC related proteins. ZAG stimulates lipid degradation in adipocytes and its overexpression causes the extensive fat losses associated with some advanced cancers.
