There is an enormous, real-world experiment happening today that will shape agriculture’s future. Specifically, we are seeing an aggressive competition between outdoor, greenhouse, and indoor cannabis farms, and there is a heated debate about which method will win. This session uses a historical economic-perspective to offer insights in the factors that will drive the result. Session participants will also see research results that demonstrate the enormous potential value of better control and learning in the context of cannabis cultivation.
Learning Objectives:
1. Give the audience a historical perspective regarding how customer preference impact the profitability of investing in technologies that enable greater control of the cultivation environment
2. Present research that illustrates that the vast majority go producers provide far too little light when growing cannabis plants
