With advancing food allergy research and emerging therapies, new allergy testing requirements arise. In this context, Basophil Activation Testing (BAT) has emerged as an essential component of the Food Allergy testing toolbox, providing unique insights complementary to those usually provided by classical techniques. Long time advocates and pioneer laboratories use BAT, but its widespread use remained limited because of logistical constraints such as tedious and time-consuming workflows and required flow cytometry expertise. Leveraging the ability to prepare ready-to-use BAT reagents in a room-temperature stable format, we have developed a streamlined, robust and easy-to-use BAT strategy that has the potential to overcome usually encountered bottlenecks and finally enable BAT to be more generally implemented in clinical research settings.
Reliable, well-defined allergens are the molecular engines for Basophil Activation Testing and other in-vitro diagnostic methods. Precision in allergy diagnostics is increasingly important for both research and clinical decision-making. The quality and consistency of the allergens used in these assays are critical.
In synergy with Beckman Coulter Life Sciences’ next-gen approach to BAT, this webinar explores InBio’s Food Protein Standards, designed specifically to support analytical method development, validation, and diagnostic testing. Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of how these reference materials are manufactured, standardized and applied across immunological and molecular methods.
