Characterization of rare cells remains a major challenge for the evaluation and understanding of key biological systems, such as circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from liquid biopsy, stem cells and CRISPR gene-edited cells. In this webinar, we present a novel integrated workflow utilizing the Genesis Cell Isolation System with Celselect slide technology that provides efficiency and versatility for performing cell capture, enumeration and cell recovery. Immuno-labeling and staining of captured cells can be performed on-slide directly, or alternatively, live cells can be recovered and cultured or interrogated further using a variety of downstream molecular applications. We focus our discussion on the utility of rapid, efficient capture and recovery of rare cells from a model system. Gentle size-based cell isolation allows retention of native biology, an important consideration for downstream applications such as gene expression analyses by qPCR and RNA sequencing, and easily lends samples to mutation detection by digital PCR.
